Melt into You

Evan Kennedy has had a bit too much to drink and wanders down the beach and into the ocean, thinking a night swim may clear her head. When she is swept into the undertow, she is rescued by a dark and mysterious man. Evan recognizes her mystery man as Jace Austin, even when he does not instantly realize who she is. The truth is a hard reveal for Jace though. He thought Evangeline missing or potentially dead. Jace learns that she is at the spacious resort as the fiancée to Dr. Dan, a relationship guru, who Jace’s business is courting. They part that weekend, never expecting to see each other again.
Fate has another plan in store however. Evan’s best friend and fiancé, Daniel, gives her an exclusive membership to The Ranch, a resort where people interested in fulfilling their sexual desires go to explore. Evan has been celibate for awhile and Daniel, who is gay, wants to help before they officially marry. Thus begins Evan’s exploration at The Ranch, where she runs into Jace and his friend, Andre. Evan has long had submissive tendencies and she is about to fully understand what that means under Jace’s hands.
This book is sexy and very, very erotic. Roni Loren holds nothing back. For readers who prefer straight M/F stories, be warned that there are sex scenes between Jace and Andre. This is definitely a book all about healing, particularly for Evan and Jace. They are each carrying burdens from their past together that makes their present situation tense and difficult to handle. But the chemistry is there in spades. I will admit, I enjoyed Jace and Andre’s relationship more so than Evan’s relationship with the two men, but she is not an awful character by any means. I just had a hard time relating to her in the beginning. She has led a very difficult life and feels indebted to Daniel. I felt both of them were in a situation where there would be no winners, only lots of hurt and betrayal and unfortunately, that panned out. Roni Loren is a new voice for this reader and I find a lot to like in her writing style. She definitely knows how to write erotic romance that is memorable. While I had a few tribulations with MELT INTO YOU, for the most part, this proved to be an engaging story with characters I wanted to see happy. I am excited to explore the rest of the LOVING ON THE EDGE series.
