Mindy Walters is very leery of men. Her reasoning? The one man she gave herself to never called again. Upon hearing Cash’s voice on the other end of her phone, Mindy can’t help but be drawn to him. The fact that the phone call was a mistake the first time makes her intrigued, but when Cash calls her again and claims to be drunk and in need of a ride home, Mindy finds herself captivated. What happens when she learns that he lied to her and wasn’t the tiniest bit drunk, but actually stone cold sober? Can she turn the tables and pull the wool over his eyes? The next morning Mindy assumes that Cash has done the same thing her only other lover had done – left with no plan to call her again. Cash tries to explain why he left, but can Mindy risk her heart on a smooth talking, hunky cowboy?
MISS JANUARY is a worthy addition to Madison Hayes’ Calendar Girl series. She has once again created characters that are real, with real problems and very easy to connect with. Mindy and Cash, the two main characters, compliment each other. Both wanting what the other has to offer, Mindy needs a man who will be there for her and Cash needs a woman who can take all he has to offer and give it back just as good. I will be sad to see the end of this series, as I have fallen in love with each of the characters as their stories have come out. These two people have wormed their way into my heart. This book is another one for the keeper shelf.
