Marcus Waters can only be described as a virile alpha male. He spies what, in this case, who he wants and goes after her. The fact that she has a date is something he’ll deal with later. Right now, he intends to make his claim. He’s watched her since she walked in the door with their newest employee. Discovering that she and Tommy live together, he sets things in motion to get Tommy out of her life.
Liz escapes to the third floor to be alone with her thoughts. She’s not good with the crowds. A shiver down her arm alerts her that she’s not alone. Within moments, Marcus has laid siege to Liz, her heart and her body.
There are many deep secrets that will come out eventually, but the deeper she’s drawn into Marcus’s web of passion, the harder it is for her to discuss them with him.
An unfortunate accident will bring things to a head. She’ll reveal her secrets, but will Marcus be able to handle them? Will Liz?
Mlyn Hurn has written a most intriguing story about two strangers who see one another across a crowded room and let nature run its course. As I read this, the music from SOUTH PACIFIC kept running around in my head, especially SOME ENCHANTED EVENING. It just seemed to fit. He saw and he took.
I’m a big fan of Mlyn Hurn’s work but MORE THAN JUST ART really pulled at my heart. The story, the conflicts and the lives of her characters were so realistic that you felt you were living their lives. Certainly watching and feeling everything they felt.
Put this one on your TBR (To Be Read) list for 2006. You won’t be sorry. It’s a must read and a keeper.
