Psyche has been tricked by her mother-in-law, Aphrodite, in a secret plot to win back the affections of Aphrodite’s son Eros. Eros knows nothing of his mother’s machinations, and there is a showdown brewing between the two women. Eros feels betrayed, and he’s been hurt by his wife’s mistrust. Can this horrible mess of a marriage be reconciled?

Psyche kicks some serious butt as the vengeful, wounded party in this story, and it was good to see her in full swing. She knows what she wants and she is out to get it. The character Pan shines as one of the only gods that seems to have a sense of conscience, and he faithfully seeks for someone to help him right the wrongs that Aphrodite committed. Other gods and goddesses make their appearances and the allegiances can change anytime in Olympus.

Isabelle Spurrier is a great author. She leaves a lot to the imagination of the reader. I enjoy reading this book and have also read the first in this series. Both books are so real that you just want to strangle Aphrodite. She is a witch and gets what she deservers. Psyche turns the table on Eros and has fun doing so. This was a fun book to read and I know others will enjoy it also. Thank you Ms Spurrier for a fun book and I hope to read more in the future.

MYTHOS 2: MORTAL RETRIBUTION is a continuation of the story that began in MYTHOS 1: GODDESS’ REVENGE. The two books should be read in order to better understand them.
