Venus Johnston has been a stay-at-home wife and mother for the past two years.  Now she is getting restless and wants to go back to work.  Right after a car accident with her baby daughter, Mya, Venus wakes up in Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she encounters her ex-lover, Dr. Clint Fairchild.  While recovering from the accident, Venus’ husband hires one of his old friends, Trina, - a very good old friend - to care for his wife and Mya.

Jake, Venus’ husband and a short term ex-rapper, now owns a clothing store, JPWear.  Having an inferiority complex, he is very jealous of Venus and wants her to stay home and take care of Mya.  Though the baby is not biologically his, he loves her as if she was his daughter.  At work his old girlfriend, Beverly, is constantly flirting with him although he has told her it has to stop - he is dedicated to his wife.

Jackson Memorial is about to close due to problems at the hospital.  After seeing the sick and helpless babies at Jackson Memorial, Venus wants to do something to keep the hospital open.  Against her better judgment, Venus, with Dr. Fairchild’s encouragement and recommendation, interviews for a job in PR at Jackson Memorial.  She is hired on a temporary basis and is in competition for the job with Dr. Fairchild’s wife, Kandi.  How is she going to tell Jake that she will be working at the same hospital with her ex-lover?  Will this be the chance for Trina to get closer to Jake?  Will Beverly’s flirting finally get to him?  After all this will she even be able to keep the job or will she lose it to Kandi?  Who is sabotaging the hospital?

NAPPILY MARRIED is a very captivating story.  Part of the Nappily series, which opened with NAPPILY EVER AFTER, this is not a book to be missed.  Full of humor, suspense, romance, sensuality, NAPPILY MARRIED will appeal to readers of many genres.  It is an intriguing story that you will anxiously keep reading to see what happens next.   Although at times I wanted to tell Venus to wake up and smell the coffee, I was rooting for her.  I happily recommend NAPPILY MARRIED.
