FBI agent Simon Petrocelli and Emily Petrocelli had their lives ripped apart years ago. They divorced when they needed each other the most and Simon made it his personal mission to go after the man responsible for their losses. Now that the case against Brian Sumner is all wrapped up, Simon hopes he'll be able to convince Emily to give him another chance.

Emily admits to herself that she erred when she left Simon and requested a divorce. She's aware that he is somehow responsible for her being brought in to catalogue the recovered archaeological artifacts which have much more than just a historical value to the Petrocellis. Finding the carved fertility goddess triggers memories and elicits a promise that if she's given another chance she won't screw it up again.

Simon and Emily are both wracked with guilt over how their marriage ended and all they lost. Simon's positive that Emily will never give him another chance - after all how many chances should one man be allotted? It's while Emily's caressing the fertility goddess that Simon makes his presence known. Both fear that they won't be able to recapture the love and trust they once shared but once they're together, their emotions take over and they recapture all the passion they've both missed over the years. They have a world of issues they need to get past but with some long overdue loving and a little honest emotional discussion they just may find that for them, it's NEVER TOO LATE.

Caitlyn Willows ends her TEAMWORK series with an unforgettable story in NEVER TOO LATE. Readers will be able to understand and empathize with Simon and Emily's emotional upheaval and fears. I fell in love with Simon in LOOSE ENDS and A REAL MAN so I was thrilled to learn that he'd have a story of his own and it's definitely well worth reading. I found Emily to be a strong woman who went through a loss which would destroy most women and yet she remains strong and hopeful. This is exactly the sort of couple that you want to see find their happily-ever-after. Kudos Ms. Willows on a wonderful series which I have thoroughly enjoyed.
