Angell's NO ONE LIKE YOU, BOOK 4 in the BAREFOOT WILLIAM SERIES, is a quick paced contemporary read that I managed to finish in one day. Ryland Cate hires Beth Avery to be his personal assistant during spring training and things get interesting fast. He has four dogs that need her care in addition to the scheduling and planning for him that she needs to do as part of her job. Atlas, is an alpha male Great Dane that is always getting into trouble but rules the roost and becomes Beth's protector. She and Ry have chemistry from the beginning but both are trying to avoid it since her job is a short term position and he's her boss. Watching them become friends and more was fun to watch since they fit so well together and his family and teammates all adored her. They both had the same outlook on life although she'd been beaten down a bit by her family and had no plans past the eight weeks she'd work for Ry. I liked when they played One or the Other, a game they used to get to know each other better. There were family, friends, dogs, secrets, magic being made, protectiveness, worries, references to businesses on the boardwalk and the Rogues, caring, romance and love. His teammates, Halo and Landon, were a hoot and always underfoot especially at his home when Beth was there. There was wonderful closure and a happily ever after and I look forward to reading the next book in the series,
Angell is an author whose books are added to my TBR pile as soon as I hear about them. I look forward to returning to Barefoot William again and again and completing the RICHMOND ROGUES baseball romance series since I've only read book 1, SQUEEZE PLAY, so far.
