No More than Friends

Quinton ‘Q’ and Brit have been best friends since meeting in college but her dictate that they be ‘no more than friends’ prevented him from ever acting on the feelings he has for her.  Now eight years later, they’re about to put those ground rules to the test.

Q recently broke up with his fiancée Victoria after catching her cheating on him.  Of course she’d already picked a hideous paint color for the home they were going to share.  Brit’s now helping him paint his first house but rather than feel sadness over the loss of his fiancée, Q is consumed with thoughts of Brit naked and the things he’d like to do with her.

Brit may have set the ground rules for her and Q’s relationship but at the time she needed to concentrate on school and work.  Q had been the first man who’d treated her like an intelligent woman instead of a set of double-Ds so losing his friendship wasn’t something she was willing to risk.   Now she’s wondering if it’s time to rethink that rule and find out if best friends really do make the best lovers.

Q’s revelation that Victoria was jealous of his friendship with Brit and that was part of the reason for their failed romance seems laughable.  Brit and Q are business partners as well as best friends so it only stands to reason that they’d spend a lot of time together, right?  When Q moodily decides to go take a shower, Brit has time to reflect on the situation and makes the monumental decision to make a move on him – and pray he doesn’t reject her.

Chelle Hicks’ NO MORE THAN FRIENDS gives readers a fast paced look at Q and Brit’s transition from friends to lovers.  The sexual attraction between them has been present since the beginning of their relationship but they’ve fought hard to ignore it.  Ms. Hicks delivers a wealth of emotion and heat with Q and Brit’s special relationship and even gives insight into Brit’s worry over the possibility of being rejected.  This is a fun read that gives you real hope that love could be as close as your best friend.
