On the way to school, Sivia Groner is splashed by a van and finds herself soaked.  When she arrives at school she finds the same van parked in a disabled parking lot.  She figures the “jerk” is no more disabled then she is and parked in the space illegally.

Sivia barely makes it to her Home Art class and finds that  she recognizes the new student, Keeley Parrish, as the same person who splashed her on her way to school.  From Keeley’s wild hair to his brightly colored clothes it is obvious that he is secure in himself, even though he was born without legs.   It is obvious by his actions, that he doesn’t allow his disability to get in his way of living his life.

Keeley invites himself to share a lunch table with Sivia and her friends.  Sivia harbors a secret crush for Brad Coty, but he only sees her as a friend.  She thinks that he is in love with Marcy Stratton, who already is dating the star basketball player Todd Bowman.

As Keeley and Sivia spend more time together it is apparent that Keeley is developing feelings for Sivia.  Sivia is unsure if she is able to get past the looks that occur whenever people see Keeley and her together.  Will Sivia be able to get past Keeley’s disability and be able to accept the love that he is offering her?

HEY, NOBODY’S PERFECT is an outstanding teenage romance.  I was highly impressed with the characters of Sivia and Keeley.  The supporting characters of Brad, Marcy and Todd added so much in-depth character to the overall development of this story.  I feel this is a book that every teenager should read.  There are so many life lessons in this one book that it is a very eye opening experience.  Ann Herrick is a wonderful author who has allowed her readers to go into the lives of a set of high school teenagers.  It is refreshing to see how they experience their own way of finding the love they deserve.
