Only You

ONLY YOU is a contemporary romance with Amy and Luke front and center along with Amy's autistic son, Noah. When they reconnect as part of their friends Joe and Amanda's wedding party the sparks do fly. They both wonder what if they hadn't broken up when Luke went off to college many years before.

Lacey's ONLY YOU was one sizzling moment after another each time Amy and Luke's paths cross whether intentionally or unintentionally in this quick paced novella. Their chemistry reignited as if they had never been apart although they both had led very different lives since splitting. She is a single mom whose son is autistic and likes routines and comes first in her life. He's a doctor that lives out of state and is divorced. Amy feels he got over her too fast after their break up so his feelings can't be real even though his words and actions say they are. He connects with Noah which really gets Amy nervous especially when Noah reciprocates those feelings. Watching their one step forward, two steps back approach was frustrating, as were Amy's actions that contradicted her words. Will they have a second chance at love?

There were connections to the first two books in the series, family and friends, Noah's rescue dog, the wedding preparations, memories and rough times. Emotions included laughter, happiness, sadness, loneliness, hope, fear, promises, loving, burn up the sheet moments and love. There was nice closure especially with the epilogue, a happily ever after and loose ends nicely tied up.

Lacey is a fairly new to me author only having read the first two books in this series, UNLEASHED and FOR KEEPS, previously. She is a relatively new author and I look forward to reading EVER AFTER, the third book in the LOVE TO THE RESCUE SERIES, which is Olivia's story. Her books immediately draw me in and I look forward to reading many more of her stories.
