Merindah Byrnes, a female cop in Australia, hearing obscene language, follows the sound into an alleyway. Seeing what she believes to be a man performing indecent acts, she prepares to arrest him.

Jason Lawrence is attempting to disengage a birdcage from the zipper of his pants. Inside the cage is a parrot that Jason intends to give as a wedding present. Percy Porcelain is the parrot that is the source of the obscene language.

Merindah is to transport a visitor to her godmother's home in the Outback; the visitor is Jason.

Due to a dare from fellow officers, for the last six months Merindah has been communicating with Larry in a single's chat room. During the drive, Jason and Merindah realize that they have been e-mailing each other for the last six months.

On the drive through the Outback, Merindah swerves to avoid hitting a kangaroo, crashing the vehicle.

Jason and Merindah have to spend the night camping in the Outback. Things become very steamy between Jason and Merindah. Handcuffs, thongs and the outrageous, off-color remarks of Percy Porcelain all combine to make a hilarious tale.

I loved the premise of OUTBACK MELTDOWN. I laughed at Percy Porcelain's remarks continuously. I would recommend this book to anyone that needs a bit of escape from everyday worries and frustrations. It will definitely make you laugh. I read it in one sitting. I wanted to read more about Percy Porcelain. Hopefully there will be a sequel.
