With Noah doing what he always does when faced with a challenge, and Lucas, now having so much more to loose than he did five years ago, can they both realise that what they have is worth the risk?
I loved this story. It is one of those tales where there is so much to lose, the prize just within their grasp, but the path to getting there seems insurmountable.
Lucas and Noah are great together; they compliment each other on so many levels. Where Noah runs away from issues that he doesn’t want to deal with, Lucas faces challenges head on. The fact that Lucas has a chid brings so much more to the dynamics of the relationship. Not only does Lucas fear that he will lose his daughter if his lifestyle is known to small town Mountain View, but he also needs to find a balance between how much of his relationship with Lucas he exposes his daughter to and how soon.
Lucas’s relationship with his father is heartbreaking. It also highlights the strength of Ms. Espinoza's writing in dealing with such a sensitive issue.
MY ONLY HOME is another great read to add to my collection from Pepper Espinoza.
