Daddy Wanted

DADDY WANTED is a sweet romance at times but Grace and Russell seem to get not only in each other's way but also in their own as well.  They fight their chemistry every step of the way not believing the other could feel the same emotions.

Marzec's DADDY WANTED was nothing at all what I expected but somehow the premise worked.  Even though Grace and Elyse didn't always get along, since Elyse was usually looking out for herself, their friendship survived.  Russell was always trying to be the good guy without involving himself too much and Grace always tried to do the right thing even if she sacrificed her own happiness.  There were a lot of subplots, most of them not too happy, but with undercurrents of sadness and loss.  The characters meshed well and had many layers to them.  There were several unexpected happily ever afters but there could have been better closure if the story had continued for a few more chapters or had an epilogue.  There was family, friends, coworkers, romance and love along with sadness, angst, misunderstandings, secrets and many mishaps.

Marzec is a new to me author and I look forward to reading her other books that will be added to my TBR pile.
