Jack’s Bar run by ex-military man Jack Sheridan is the place most of the locals of Virgin River end up at on most evenings. Now he also faces every father’s worst nightmare, a phone call informing him that Rick has been seriously injured and may not be coming home. Now Jack is left with the task of informing Rick’s grandmother and young girlfriend, then setting out on a trip to Germany to check on the boy that he has always considered his son.

PARADISEVALLEY by Robyn Carr is another exciting visit with all the beloved people in Virgin River. This visit had all the drama, tragedy passion and romance that I have come to expect from this excellent series. I absolutely love Rick and Liz and I cried along with them as Rick struggled with his emotions and physical problems. Everything he felt was right out in the open and I just wish I could have reached into the book to give him a hug. Liz is amazing. With all that she has gone through in her very young life, she never gave up on herself or on Rick. I was so proud of her for believing in herself and her own worth and not letting Rick’s problems set her back. All of the other stories in this book are such an added treat. I love watching everyone interact together while teasing each other, but always being there whenever they are needed. If you are already a fan of this series this is one book that you don’t want to miss. If you haven’t read any of the other books, go ahead and pick this one up. You won’t be lost, there is enough background information for you to follow along and I guarantee that once you have read this book you will start looking for all the previous stories.
