Sportscaster Jake Jarvis needs his job at KKZP's Sports At Six. As a single parent to his four-year-old son Noah, he has plenty of responsibilities and he can't afford to lose his job. The only way he can keep it is to play along with the station's promo flaunting him as L.A.'s studliest sportscaster. Part of the deal is to be a contestant on Dream Date. This has to be Jake's worst nightmare come to life. Him? A sex symbol? As far as Jake's concerned, it couldn't get any worse than that. Or could it?
The first person Jake meets at the auditions is Carley Christopher, Marley's undercover persona, and from that moment the sparks fly and the fun begins. Having been an actress from childhood, Marley has no real concept of what it's like to live a so-called normal life. And her efforts to be "ordinary" are both endearing and humorous. Jake's world on the other hand may be ordinary, but he is anything but. Being gorgeous in the extreme, Jake plays havoc with Marley's concentration on the role she's working so hard to play, making her reveal more of herself than she intends. And the dating situations the Dream Date team sends them on adds just the right touch of fun to the mix.
Lisa Plumley takes us on a lighthearted, fun-filled romp where two very unlikely characters capture your heart and have you rooting for them to get together. Because even though it takes them a while to figure it out, they're PERFECT TOGETHER.
I enjoyed PERFECT TOGETHER tremendously and look forward to the sequel where we'll finally find out what mischief Meredith was up to while her twin sister, Marley, was away undercover. I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for Meredith's story in PERFECT SWITCH, coming out in June 2004.
