Suzanne Briggs wants to write a series of articles about different aspects of sexual experiences, including D/s. George MacKenzie, owner of the magazine, cannot believe she would write such an article or that it would even be accepted by the general public. Suzanne surprises him with details about percentages of people who actually would like to know about these different aspects. She argues with George that it is her article, not his son's. He agrees. Suzanne expects to hate the man on sight.

Mike MacKenzie has seen the world, often from some horrible scenes in his job as a foreign correspondent. He's come home now, is going to work with his father at the magazine and wants to settle down. His idea of the perfect mate is more just a wife and lover. Mike wants someone submissive, someone who will put herself in his hands to love, to train and to make his own.

The first meeting between Suzanne and Mike is riff with electricity. As much as she resents him being a part of this story, something inside her needs him and whatever he can offer her-personally and professionally. She agrees to put herself in his hands for the weekend with him in charge. Suzanne doesn't see the big deal, after all, she's never experienced the kinds of things a woman experiences with a man. As far as she's concerned, sex is overrated and a waste of time.

Mike cannot believe his fortune. She's agreed to what he wants. He takes her out to dinner and then has her agreeing to spend the weekend with him because he's promised to give her a glimpse of the BDSM world.

PERSUADING SUZANNE is one of those stories that has you sitting on the edge of your seat. It reminded me of watching a sculptor take a fragile piece of marble, work with it and shape it until he sculpted the perfect statue. I recommend this one for anyone who loves a good and well-told love story. The D/s aspects flow with the story. I look forward to reading more of Amy O'Connor's work. This one will definitely remain in my keeper file.
