Anna, an interior designer, has recently bought a charming but sadly torn apart cottage in Amberford. She has major plans to renovate it and then sell it. She is quite looking forward to the project but unfortunately things are off to a rough start and it all begins when she becomes the unwitting owner of a rescued greyhound named Caroline. Suddenly, she has the rehoming officer for the local greyhound rescue center in her life. Rob Hunter is a man who loves greyhounds and he also just happens to be the local listed buildings inspector in Amberford. Talk about a double whammy! Anna finds Rob thoroughly annoying but she is also a teensy bit attracted to him.
As the project moves along, Anna discovers that life has more surprises in store for her, including a reunion with the man of her dreams, making new friends, some family issues, and the discovery that there may be more to Rob than meets the eye. But will she ever get her home restored with all the commotion in her life?
