Micah Black works at the local high school as a Truancy Officer and is still the typical boy next door, with an open door policy and friends who are as welcoming as they are crazy.
When a life threatening accident forces both Micah and Dave to realize that they want the same thing – each other – they must get past the obvious, like Micah’s wedding band and Dave’s height, and the assumptions of what each other is looking for in a partner in order to give them a fair short at a relationship.
Amanda Young has always been one of those authors that you have to always have a copy of her work at hand to read and reread, and PRECIOUS ACHE will definitely be getting lots of reread.
The highlight of the book is most definitely Dave’s height; there is always something about the obvious differences in people’s physical appearance that brings an extra zest to a partnership.
Micah and Dave are perfect for each other. Where Dave is reserved and lacks the confidence to deal with some of the challenges of everyday life, due to the issue of his upbringing and his height, Micah is welcoming and genuinely friendly and almost too nice for words. Luckily for both, opposites attract.
