Vivian Roussel and her brother Marc have owned their own business in importing and exporting Russian artifacts for over a decade.  At first glance, you would never be able to tell that they were really werecats of the Main Coon Clan.  Vivian is a direct descendant of  ancient demigoddess Krasivaya.  It is part of her duty to pass on the DNA of Krasivaya by mating with another Main Coon werecat.  That's going to be difficult since she finds herself attracted to another male from another clan.

Pavel Federov is also a werecat, but of an entirely different clan.  He is part of the Russian Blue werecat clan.  He also happens to be a surveillance expert and is hired by the Roussels when their shop gets broken into.  Upon taking on the new assignment, they all come to the realization that the robbers were after a rare icon of Russia, the Virgin of Saratov.  All Russians worship the icon because they believe that it protected them against the Tsar Ivan the Terrible during the 16th Century.  It is Pavel's duty to bring the lady back to her home land, and he will do whatever it takes to succeed.

After reading Morel's first novel DEVOUR, I was excited to sink my claws into PREYI really like that she brings the characters from her first novel into PREY, where they can develop and interact with other characters.  Each of her characters are strong and upon reading about them, you find yourself knowing them better with every turn of the page.  I had a hard time putting this book down, and I look forward to any that may follow.
