Lizzie Nichols is finally getting married!  Maybe.  Her fiancé, Luke de Villiers, is perfect for her.  Right?  Her career as a bridal gown restorer is on track.  Probably.   And Chaz Pendergast is just a friend.  Isn’t he?

Luke is a French aristocrat who plans to attend medical school and change the world one child at a time.  Ok, so he left her and went to France when things got rough.  But he’s back.  And he proposed!  Surely that means he’s ready to get married, right?

And then there’s Chaz.  He’s the baseball hat-wearing, commitment phobic guy Lizzie spent the night with on New Year’s.  And, by the way, he’s Luke’s best friend.  He’s hot and all, but he didn’t propose, and is, in fact, dead set against the idea of marriage.

As if deciding between two gorgeous and commitment-phobic men and running the bridal shop, Chez Henri, alone isn’t enough, Lizzie is also balancing that with her suddenly frenzied workload as a bridal gown restorer and sometimes designer.  Her newest client, Paris Hilton-like, Chihuahua toting socialite Ava Geck (whose style is described as that of “skanky crack whore”), needs Lizzie to design a dress for her marriage to a Greek prince.

Even though everyone, including Chaz and Ava and even Gran, who adds her opinion between episodes of ‘Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman,’ thinks Lizzie should dump Luke and “shtup” Chaz, Lizzie is determined to make her engagement work!

After the surprising cliffhanger ending in the second book of the series, I could not wait to get my hands on the third adventure for Lizzie Nichols. In QUEEN OF BABBLE GETS HITCHED, Meg Cabot once again exhibits her talent for impressive quick-witted writing, full of comic banter and lively, fast-paced dialogue.  I loved this book, and once I started, I could not put the book down until I came to the extremely satisfying conclusion!
