Whenever Tristy needs a shoulder to cry on she turns to her next door neighbor Grant for a little moral support.  He’s sexy, extremely good looking and a police officer – the only problem with him is he’s a Dom and makes no apologies for his lifestyle.  Tristy has no experience with BDSM and the thought of giving over control of her pleasure to a man is terrifying but the men she’s been dating are losers.  Maybe it’s time to follow her impulse and stop treating Grant as just a friend.  After all, there’s no denying that he turns her on in a huge way – and that’s before he begins dominating her.

Grant can’t deny his attraction to Tristy but he questions whether he might ruin everything by taking her to bed and giving her a taste of what it would be like to be his woman.  There’s no denying Tristy’s reaction to his seduction was spot on for a sub but does that mean she’s really good at playing the part or is she actually submissive and never realized it?

In either case, she’s pushed all his hot buttons and Grant’s determined to find out the truth about his sexy neighbor because he can’t be in a sexual relationship with a woman without D/s playing a major role in their lives.  What he didn’t expect was for Tristy to turn into such a playful ‘brat’ and her attempts at topping from the bottom are driving him crazy.

For Tristy it’s easy to slip into a submissive role but when push comes to shove she panics and retreats to the safety of her apartment – and the realization that she’s really in love with Grant and might have completely destroyed any chance they have of a future together.  Can she come to grips with her perceptions of a D/s relationship and what Grant would expect of her or is she doomed to date a string of losers because of her fear of the unknown?

DOM NEXT DOOR by Reese Gabriel takes a typical next door neighbor romance and amps it up with wickedly delicious results.  Tristy’s willingness to accept Grant as her best friend already shows a significant amount of trust in him already but her fear of his Dominance is a real stumbling block in any potential future together.  While this story is relatively short, it’s full of sexual and emotional tension so you’re never quite sure how things are going to play out which makes this read particularly enjoyable.
