Caroline really misses West, even though he left her and broke her heart, she still loves him. West calls her saying that his father has been murdered and Caroline drops everything and flies out to be there for him. They might be together again, but everything is different, West is cold to her. He hardly talks to her and treats her terribly. He has become hard, he has put up a brick wall and nobody is getting in. But can Caroline soften his edges? Can the two of them get back what they once had?
I don’t think I have ever been so emotionally invested in a series. It took me a while to get through the beginning of this book because I was so mad at West. I just wanted to smack him. He has a girl that will drop everything in order to be there for him and he doesn’t appreciate her at all. I hated him for the first half of the book.
Once again Robin York takes your heart on a roller coaster ride. She does an amazing job of creating three dimensional characters that you will love, and probably hate at times as well. This book could be read as a standalone, but reading DEEPER got me very emotionally invested in the characters and I definitely suggest reading it first.
