Ben doesn't have any fond memories of his life growing up in Haven Point. After the loss of his sister, he just left town and never looked back. Now seeing the town through McKenzie's eyes, he finds that maybe it is a place where he can come home to heal. But the animosity from McKenzie makes him think that the advances he wants to make toward her won't be welcome. Can Ben come home and find happiness with McKenzie? Will McKenzie give up her bad feelings toward Ben to get what she has always wanted and never really had, a family to call her own?
I have loved all of RaeAnne's books that I have read. First her HOPE'S CROSSING series and now her new series, HAVEN POINT. I have always loved small towns and to experience through this book the hardship caused by the closing of a factory brings to mind lots of small towns that have become ghost towns in these hard years.
This will make you weep and laugh in one chapter. Getting to know all the new characters in this series is a joy all by itself. Add in a head-strong woman and a bitter man who can't resist each other, then you have the makings of a great novel. I give REDEMPTION BAY 5 Blue Ribbons on Romance Junkies' website because it is a realistic example of the American way of life and the struggle people go through, but still stay strong. I hope everyone who likes small town stories will love this story as much as I did.
