Becoming a grandmother should have made Helen happy. While she’s happy for her daughter and Marc, she’s not ready to be a grandma. Rocking chairs, bingo, and Depends will be next, how depressing. At fifty years of age, Helen suffered years of abuse and neglect from her deceased husband and there’s not way she’s ever going to put herself in such a vulnerable position with a man again.

Griffin has been intrigued with Helen ever since he’d first seen her picture. As Marc’s honorary father, Griffin often spends time at the family gatherings He’s perfectly aware that her marriage had been less than ideal and understandably she won’t be quick to want to jump into a new relationship. Only five years her junior, Griffin is well aware that age is just a number. She’s using the age difference and her own insecurity to try to keep him at a difference. That’s something that he has no intention of allowing to continue.

Griffin will do whatever it takes convince Helen that they belong together - including letting her take control during sex. Despite her marriage Helen is relatively inexperienced on many aspects of loving but she’s a quick study and anything she’s too shy to inquire about, she’s willing to look up on the internet. Her daughter Lily catches her doing some online research and goes ballistic over it. Never mind that Lily is married and no longer living at home. Then Helen has given far more for her kids than they will ever know, but there’s no way she’s going to allow them to keep them to relegate her to nothing more than a mother and future grandmother. Helen’s ready to live life on her terms and Griffin is just lucky enough to be the man she’s agreed to experience love with.

This is the fourth book in Liz Andrews and Lena Matthews’ REDEMPTION series. The first three books involve Helen’s children and are all wonderful stories by themselves, but I really love HELEN’S RELEASE. Helen is not just a wonderfully memorable character but she also serves as a reminder that sexuality doesn’t stop just because you’re older. She’s a woman who has endured a lot in her lifetime and it’s time to live life on her terms - even if she has to go against her children to do so. Griffin is the sort of man we all wish we could find. Obviously dominant in nature, he’s also secure enough to allow her control. It doesn’t seem to matter which one of them is in control of their sex life at any given time. It’s all toe tingling hot! Together they are a thrilling couple that are a pure joy to read about. I’d highly recommend this entire series and will be adding them to my keeper files.
