Sensible Sarah Austin has been diagnosed with a potentially devastating condition. Over and over she’s reminded of a grade school teacher who was similarly diagnosed. Sarah believes that her life is essentially over. She’s just waiting for the time when she’s wheelchair bound and existing through the rest of her days.
When Dean comes to the bank where Sarah works, she’s hit with an idea. Rumor has it that he’s a part of the stage crew for a popular rock band. If he’s on his way back to
Dean just wants to go home. Memories of another time are not what he needs at the moment. His life is uncomplicated now. The ex-bad boy earned a degree from college and has steady employment.
Natasha Moore has written a story that will leave you alternately crying and laughing as you turn the pages. RIDE OF HER LIFE is just that. Sarah needs an adventure and Dean is the perfect bad boy to help her out. He isn’t too keen on the idea but gives in.
The tension that passes back and forth between Dean and Sarah is electrified. He doesn’t want to fall in love and she can’t help it but neither can admit it.
Like every relationship that has a good amount of secrets, things have to come to a head. The volcanic eruption of tempers and hurt feelings when the truths are known will have you grabbing for the tissues. I loved the way Ms. Moore kept the tension between these two. Sometimes you wanted to find a referee, other times you wanted to call in the fire department to put out the blazes that erupted between them.
This is definitely a keeper and a recommended read. Most of all, this story comes with a moral that will leave you alternately sad and happy. I have a dear friend who was diagnosed with the same condition and she fights it every day of her life and lives her life to the fullest. Kudos to Natasha Moore for telling Sarah’s story.
