When Rusty Joplin decided to return to Salvation, Texas, the small town he grew up in, he knew it was not going to be easy. When he ran for Sheriff he had to run against the man that one of the most powerful, influential man in West Texas, Randall Ryder, supported. Fortunately, the citizens of Salvation were ready for an honest change and Rusty was elected town Sheriff.

The hardest thing Rusty was going to have to deal with was Elena Ryder. In high school Rusty and Elena were best friends and then lovers, until Elena’s dad ran Rusty out of town. Rusty has managed to stay away from Elena so far but when her sister is killed staying away from Elena becomes almost impossible.

Elena was never very close to her sisters but dealing with Carla’s tragic death has shaken her to the bone. There were so many unanswered questions. Who would want Carla Dead? What was going to happen to her children? If all that was not enough to deal with, Elena was also dealing with her feelings for Rusty and the lies from the past that are re-surfacing. Can Elena convince Rusty to look beyond her money and give them a second chance at love?

Anna Jeffrey brings her readers a gripping tale filled with lies, deceit and murder in SALVATION, TEXAS. The story blends together a great romance with a suspenseful murder creating a story that I enjoyed and would highly recommend.
