Pastry chef Laurel McBane didn’t have the best home life growing up, or the wealth that two of her dear friends had. In terms of riches, she had the best friends a girl could ever ask for. Her sisters at heart, Mac, Emma, and Parker, and Parker’s brother, Del, have always been an anchor of support for her. Their close relationship has only grown over the years. Together, the four women now run the successful Vows Wedding Planning Company with Mac as the photographer, Emma the florist, Parker the planner/coordinator, and Laurel as cake maker extraordinaire.

In all the years of friendship however, Laurel has secretly harbored a crush for Del. Over the years her feelings have grown, but he only seems to see her as another sister. She’s become fed up with watching him date other women whom she doesn’t feel she could ever compete with. Then one night, fuel by frustration, Laura grabs Del and delivers a kiss neither will be able to forget.

As older brother to Parker, Delaney Brown has always considered his sister’s best friends as part of the family. However, as they grew up, Del has dealt with an underlying awareness of Laurel. He’s never stopped to dwell on those emotions or risk altering their friendship to pursue anything. A heated debate and a surprise kiss have Del acknowledging the attraction that has been growing for Laurel. Del could never back down from a challenge and this is one challenge he’s decided he wants to rush head first into.

Laurel is stunned when Del proposes that they have a thirty day trial relationship to get to know one another on a more intimate level, to see if something more could exist between them. Del romances her and they have a wonderful time together, but Laurel believes in living in the moment. She is too afraid to hope that Del could come to love her in the way that she loves him. This relationship could turn out two ways: it could lead to her happily ever after, or end in a broken heart if she isn’t careful.

Love is in the air and romance continues to bloom in SAVOR THE MOMENT, book three in the BRIDE QUARTET. While there are no deep plots or external conflicts present, the progression of the straightforward romance and the internal battles that are faced make for a heart-warming read. The windows into the individual lives of the four friends, the detailed look at their business, and the continuation of the developing relationship between the couples of the first two books all add life to the storyline. Nora Roberts brings forth her usual flare for creating a memorable experience through her talented penmanship. I can’t wait to see what awaits in the final installment.
