It’s a love/hate thing at first sight. She loves his gorgeously toned body, cowboy hat and the handcuffs. Oh, dear, those handcuffs. He wants her with every fiber of his being but he’s less than pleased that she’s trying to ruin his town.

Samantha Vining just got off the plane in the sweltering little town of Okalooma, Florida. Her luggage has been misplaced and she’s less than happy. Then she meets the sheriff. He’s every woman’s dream and he comes complete with handcuffs. OMG, she loves the handcuffs. A portion of his anatomy is pleasing to her eyes, too, but she needs to concentrate on her mission. The deal she makes with the town for Octave Corporation will determine her future with the company.

Sheriff Bill Donovan isn’t any happier to have Sammie in his town than she is to be there. To her discomfort, he’s also her escort while she’s in town. And he’ll do whatever is necessary – within the law or not – to prevent her company from ruining his town.

The battle of wills commences. I alternately laughed and almost cried as I watched Bill and Sammie go head to head with one another. Her luck started off bad because her luggage appears to be lost and just gets worse, especially when she finds a snake in her shower. Sheriff Bill wasn’t too happy about the 911 call on that but he took advantage.

Their battle continues and becomes more and more personal. Just when things really heat up, another Octave Corporation employee appears on the scene. He’s determined to finish the job and take all the credit. He senses the tension between Sammie and Bill and tries to take an upper hand and claim her. You really need to read that! What happens after that will keep you glued to the pages. I dare not say anything else lest I give away the surprises that await you.

Reese Gabriel has traded in his trademark no-holds-barred BDSM stories for one that combines suspense, romance and a battle of wills unlike anything he’s written to date. This story is a must-read. The word weaving is so clear you have a front row seat to the action and you don’t want to miss a minute!

As usual, if you’re under eighteen years old, you should not read it. The BDSM elements are written with love and tenderness. It’s a must read!
