Dillon Slater is used to working a stressful job as a bomb disposal specialist in Afghanistan.  He has returned home and is now teaching high school physics where he still gets to blow things up, but now he is dealing with teenage students.  He is also the school’s basketball coach.  He has his job cut out for him with the basketball team because they haven’t won a game in years.  When he gets a new student who is a gifted player, Dillon hopes to turn the team around.

Claire Templeton makes her living blowing glass into beautiful pieces of art.  She has moved her son Matt to Shelter Bay because she hopes to keep him out of trouble like he was getting into in LA.  When a change in schools doesn’t seem to change Matt’s attitude, Claire turns to Dillon for help.  The two strike up a friendship that quickly turns into something more.  But Claire has a wall around her heart and Dillon has a policy to not become involved with his students’ mothers.  Will these two let down their guards enough to let love in?

Dillon is a calming presence in both Claires and Matt’s life.  He helps Matt to become a better basketball player and a better person.  He is loving and supportive of Claire and I found him to be super sexy and irresistible.  He is a good choice for Claire to fall in love with.

Claire is very admirable as a single mother looking out for her son’s best interest.  She has a heart of gold that needs a special man to nurture her with love, and Dillon fit’s the bill.  Claire also needs a man in her life that can accept and love her son, and Dillon does this quite nicely.

SEA GLASS WINTER is a novel to be savored and enjoyed.  JoAnn Ross’ writing style is clear and defined and her characters are unforgettable. The setting of Shelter Bay is beautiful and breathtaking; I could taste the salt water of the ocean as I read along, and feel the sand between my toes. The love scenes are highly developed, and the sex takes place with an open door.  I prefer a little heat in my romances and JoAnn Ross really know how to deliver a very seductive tale. SEA GLASS WINTER is my favorite book so far this year and I highly recommend that you get a copy today!
