Callie's life is a good one. She's got a great job, wonderful friends and a sense of fulfillment at the end of the day. So her love life could use some work; but Callie's not one of those girls who defines herself by the man at her side. Working for a production crew for musical bands has been a lot of fun but she's been taught to stay away from the 'talent' as they're nothing but trouble; always thinking they should get everything they want because they're special. Callie's whole life is about to change though when she meets Jordan, lead guitarist and song writer for The Donner Boys. Waking up with no memory of her night with Jordan is enough to scare the hell out of Callie. The bad news doesn't end here though, as Callie is soon to find out.

Jordan thinks he's God's gift to women. It's been a very long time since the suave and sexy band member has had to grovel to a woman to get some action. For some reason though, when he meets Callie, his world goes tail-spinning out of control. For the first time in his life, he's discovering what it feels like to want a woman that he can't easily have. Things take an unexpected turn when someone close to Jordan decides to play a life and death game that involves both Callie and Jordan. Will Jordan and Callie be the ones to suffer for the rest of their lives for someone else's cruel behavior?

SECOND CHANCES: WAITING IN THE WINGS is a poignant, emotional and even sometimes harsh look at the world involving rape and the drugs that help enable this abominable behavior in people. Two innocent lives are forever changed and there's no going back to right the wrongs in this incredibly moving tale. I've read a lot of stories in my time of reviewing that have to do with rape, most of them harsh and cruel. I can honestly say that CJ England has interwoven both the cruelty and the brutality of rape with a hint of romance. Rape is a never-ending issue in our world and I'm very proud of CJ for going to this length to draw reader's attention to this horrendous act on society. This isn't an erotic story with rape undertones…this is a real life situation that a lot of people have found themselves in at one time or another and I applaud Ms. England for taking a stand on this and creating such a real life situation for her characters. Throughout SECOND CHANCES: WAITING IN THE WINGS, I was left dumbstruck by everything Callie was going through. My heart broke for this character and I wanted her to get everything due to her in the end. I even felt horrible for Jordan, an innocent man caught up in someone else's sick game. These were two characters that I felt were really meant to be together and happy, but instead, someone had to stick his nose in and destroy lives. I curtsy to you, Ms. England, for a supreme job on this subject matter and for everything you are attempting to do to draw attention to this matter. Thank you!
