Maria Tortorici, the chief architect at Hensley and Porter Construction, is getting close to being forty.  She has been career minded her whole life, having moved from Eugene, Oregon to Phoenix, Arizona for her job, despite loving cold weather.  Being so involved with her career, she has not had much of a social life.  In fact, even the people she went to school with know how dedicated she is to her career.  At her ten year high school reunion, her three friends made a bet with her.  If she is not married or, at least, engaged by their twentieth high school reunion, they can decide on a penalty for her and knowing them as she does, it will be a doozy.

Edward Russell is a hunky, promising young designer and assistant to Maria.  He has been intrigued by her since the first day he joined the company.  Looking into her dark sensual eyes was all it took.  Until then, he had never known he was attracted to older women.  She appreciated his humor where women his own age didn’t seem to get it.  As time went by, his feelings for her deepened and, lately, he couldn’t seem to stop thinking about her.

Ever since her remark several months ago about finding a younger man who could keep up with her sexually, Maria has not stopped thinking about Edward.  It did not help that he was, unbeknownst to her, standing behind her at the time she made the remark.  With only two weeks until her twentieth high school reunion, she is desperate to find someone to act as her husband or, at least, act as her fiancé.  She had been fantasizing about Edward lately, so with him in mind for the part, she made her plans.  For his thirtieth birthday, Maria left a card in his desk, inviting him to dinner at Tony’s Restaurant, her favorite restaurant.  In the card, she told him his wishes were her commands.

Maria started making her moves in the bar as they waited for their table to be made ready.  So, by the time they were led to their table, both were eager to rush through dinner.  Leading him into the luxurious hotel room she had reserved for them for the weekend, she found that Edward shared her attraction and had feelings for her.  After a wonderful night together, she started thinking about a future with him.  But she could not help thinking she was too old for him, despite the fact that he told her he loved her.  Would he be insulted that she had used him?  Would this ruin their working relationship?  Would he agree to play the part of her husband for the reunion?

Sizzling hot, SEDUCTION TO THE ALTAR is a very sensually explicit contemporary romance.  This story is not for the timid or the faint of heart, as it contains explicit language and sex scenes.  However, this couple seemed to be made for each other, despite their age difference.  Wonderfully enriched with well-drawn characters, witty repartee, romance, sexual tension, imagination and an entertaining plot, this story was such a delight that I look forward to reading more works by this author.  I recommend SEDUCTION TO THE ALTAR to those looking for a great read with plenty of spice.
