Sense of a Woman
By Tracy Marsac
Jan 1, 2005 - 12:00:00 PM
Valerie's marriage to prominent OB/GYN Daniel Randall is over. He callously used her to establish a good front for society purposes and figures since he's on solid ground, he can finally get rid of her. And worse, by enduring Daniel's verbal abuse, Valerie's self esteem has suffered. Combined with a recent life changing surgery, Valerie is emotionally at her lowest. Her best friend tries to boost her spirits by making her an appointment at their favorite salon/spa, but she is reluctant to keep it. Going to Sense of a Woman means facing its owner, Mason Cole. She'd severed her friendship with Mason when Daniel's jealousy caused an even bigger rift in their rocky marriage. The fact that Daniel's jealousy was valid is another reason Valerie hasn't stepped foot in the salon in months. The fantasies she harbored for Mason weighed heavily on her mind as did her wedding band. After seeing Mason again, Valerie is not surprised the attraction is still running hot and heavy and decides it's past time to act on it.
Since starting Sense of a Woman, Mason has strictly enforced one personal rule--never become involved with the client. Despite his good looks and the constant company of women, maintaining a professional distance from his customers has never been a problem...until Valerie. He values her friendship immensely and wants more than anything to show her how deeply she affects him. At the same time, he hopes he's not just the rebound guy for Valerie especially since he envisions long term plans with her.
Rhiannon Neeley's not-so-common hero is absolutely delicious in her new single title contemporary, SENSE OF A WOMAN! Mason recognizes every woman's need to feel beautiful, pampered, and sensual. He draws on his experience operating his salon to seduce Valerie with how a healthy relationship is supposed to be like with a man who truly cares for her. I loved every page of this story and most especially how Valerie's cruel and twisted ex got what was coming to him in the end.
