Tara Drake’s job as an advertising executive demands that she keep her own needs tightly under control and appear to always be in charge. After hours she desires a man to take control and therefore she’s acquired the services of Mr. Leo. Every Thursday she visits the professional top for a little bondage and disciple. The only problem with the arrangement as far as she’s concerned is the little issue of the contract she’s signed which specifically states that there will be no sex.
Leo Hanson has spent years working as a professional top and not once has he been tempted to have sex with any of them. He prides himself on his ability to keep his business life and personal life separate but something about Tara has pushed him beyond his limits.
When their normal Thursday night appointment takes on a sexually charged tension which neither of them is willing to deny they’re faced with the question of where do they go from here. Leo’s full of guilt for letting himself get worked up by a client and Tara couldn’t be happier. She’s been having fantasies about her Dom for quite some time. Is it possible that Leo and Tara can get past their unconventional employer/employee relationship and discover that they’re a ‘love match?’
Layne Blacque’s WHIPPED is an intense BDSM story which while very short leaves a lasting impression on the reader. I genuinely liked both the characters and even understand their needs for domination or submission and even admire their determination to fulfill those needs. That being said there is a scene in this book which I found disturbing but once again I can understand and accept how it is presented in this storyline. The scene I’m referring to involves autoerotic asphyxiation and I personally have been affected by the death of someone dear to me because of this practice. All I can say is if you are going to partake of this activity please be sure you aren’t alone while doing so. Otherwise I have to confess WHIPPED is full of a combination of sexual tension and emotional upheaval that will keep you riveted to the pages.
