FBI Agent Aidan Maddock knew that Brianne would find him once he was in the club, he just hadn’t planned on his informant turning into a kissing bandit at the exact moment she spotted him on her security monitor. Even though it has been ten years since he has seen Brianne and she was only eighteen at the time, he has never been able to forget her. The memory of their one scorching kiss still has the power to set his blood afire when he lets himself think of it. He knows that his career, and the danger that it entails, is not conducive to a relationship, but he just doesn’t see any way that the sizzling chemistry between the two of them can be ignored. Now if he can just figure out what she is hiding from him . . .
The sizzling chemistry between Aidan and Brianne literally jumps off the page from their very first encounter and doesn’t cool off one bit as the book progresses. I’m not normally this thrilled with books whose hero is as aggressive as Aidan but Brianne and her take-no-crap attitude is the perfect match for Aidan’s bad boy FBI attitude. The humor that evolves as we hear their thoughts, the suspense that builds as we discover why Brianne needed to leave New York, and the ever present uncertainty as to whether or not Aidan will capture her ex-stepfather all combine to make this a stay-up-until-2:00 a.m. read. I can’t wait for the rest of the stories in this series.
