Gunnar Hakens may be a wealthy real estate investor but without the woman he loves everything seems pointless.   He has lots of questions about what went wrong with their marriage and it looks like he’ll finally get the opportunity to get the answers he seeks.   His ex-wife Daphne has placed an ad on Bidwars offering herself and the ranch up for a trial engagement - for a price – and Gunnar has met the price.

Daphnie Saunders has good reasons for divorcing Gunnar and not a single one of them has anything to do with her feelings for him.   In fact, she believes that she was protecting him.   The last thing she expects is to find her ex-husband on her doorstep - and she certainly hadn’t anticipated him being the highest bidder for a trial engagement.

Gunnar’s thrilled with the fact that he’s managed to outbid all the other investors.   He’s now the proud owner of a trial engagement with his ex-wife Daphne, and the ranch they once shared on two thousand acres.   While there’s no doubt that the property is prime real estate, he’s far more interested in winning back Daphnie’s love.

As thrilled as Daphie is to see Gunnar again, she’s perfectly aware that there’s a very real danger because of his presence.   She’s given up so much to ensure his safety safe so how is she supposed to handle letting him go a second time.   She only placed the ad in the first place so that she could raise some quick cash and escape the hell that her life has become since the threats started.   Gunnar’s out to win his wife back - no if’s, and’s or but’s.   Will he be able to convince Daphnie to share her concerns and the truth behind the divorce - because he believes that there’s more to the story than he’s aware.

SHADES OF PASSION is Titania Ladley’s first published story as her pseudonym Roxana Blade.   If this story is anything to go by then this author is one you’ll be sure to find writing compelling storylines well worth reading.   Right away I was pulled into this tale by Gunnar’s cunning and his delight at the thought of getting away with it - there’s something so delightfully devilish about his attitude that I couldn’t wait to find out how Daphnie reacts.   I loved the emotional appeal of both characters and the air of mystery as I tried to figure out who could be bombarding Daphnie with threats.

Be sure to check out Roxana Blaze’s website for her lineup of upcoming books.   There are definitely several books coming up that are noteworthy.
