Julia Boudreaux's life has gone haywire. She loses her father, and then finds out the lifestyle she is use to living is no longer hers. The main thing she inherited is a pile of debts; debts she is able to pay by selling everything her father had owned and dismissing her servants. She doesn't miss the money, and all that goes with it, but she misses her father. To make things worse, her two best friends, Chloe and Kate, have fallen in love and have started new lives; and her job may be in jeopardy if she doesn't come up with a few brilliant ideas soon.

Ben Prescott is an undercover cop. Not very many people know this, just a very few close family members who are sworn to secrecy. Ben is also the brother of Chloe’s new husband, who is now the new owner of the television station Julia had to sell. Julia and Ben met at Chloe and Sterling's wedding, and clashed from the start. He is devastatingly handsome, with sex appeal so thick you can cut it with a knife; Julia happens to be his female counterpart. Both of them have a reputation to maintain -that of a wild "love 'em and leave 'em" type.

When Ben is shot and needs a place to recuperate, Julia volunteers to let him stay at her place. It was either this, or Chloe and Sterling are going to postpone their honeymoon to take care of him. Neither of them wants to see that happen, so they put aside their differences, and agree to declare a truce until Ben is better. Julia can't figure out how this sexy, but irritating man in the "import-export" business could get himself shot leaving a bar! What kind of places does he hang out at?

Julia decides to make over herself over from a wild party girl into someone more demure and responsible. If her whole lifestyle has to change, why not all of her? Her wardrobe goes from sexy mini skirts and stilettos to a style that was reminiscent of June Cleaver. Ben doesn't understand the change, and more confusing, he doesn't understand why he is more attracted to her everyday in spite of her horrible new clothes. When she comes up with the idea for a new makeover show that turns primal males into sensitive men, and asks him to be the first subject, he is appalled!

I started giggling from the first, as I began reading SIMPLY SEXY. This is a hilarious story with loads of fun escapades. There is a huge amount of sexual tension between Julia and Ben, in fact, the tension is so thick you can practically cut it with a knife, but somehow they manage to react in ways that had me both laughing and sighing! This is the third book in this series by Ms. Lee, and I regret that it is the first one I've read, a situation I plan to remedy soon. If you like to laugh, and to sigh,  with situations fraught with sexual tension, this is the book for you!
