Debbie Sue Overstreet owns The Styling Station, a local beauty salon in Salt Lick, Texas. It is a one-of-a-kind establishment since it started out as a gas station and was the only thing of value she'd received as part of her divorce. Unfortunately, running it as a service station was not an option when the state ordered her to replace the pumps. Just the clean-up alone robbed her of all her funds. So she opened her own business and just left the pumps there.

Even though she works her tail off, she barely makes ends meet. What she wouldn't do to pick up, leave town, and start a new life in Austin. There is nothing left for her in Salt Lick, especially since she just found out that her ex-husband not only has a new girlfriend but is probably going to marry her, pretty much ruling out any chance of them reconciling. It seems like Debbie Sue's dreams are answered when the richest, but meanest, woman in town is mysteriously murdered. When a huge reward is offered for anybody who can solve the crime, Debbie Sue is sure she can collect.

About the last thing Sheriff Buddy Overstreet needs is his fiery, hot-headed ex-wife getting involved in a murder case. Sure, they'd had their differences during their marriage, but he'd never quite gotten her out of his system. She can still tempt him like no one else. But they are through-aren't they?

Dixie Cash's debut novel, SINCE YOU'RE LEAVING ANYWAY, TAKE OUT THE TRASH, is incredibly hilarious, touchingly poignant and an all-around fabulous read. Congratulations go to her for a wonderful first book, as well as pleas for many more to come.
