Kate Fenelli comes back to her old hometown in a not so good frame of mind. Kate had worked hard to get where she is today with a big law firm. Being put on a two month sabbatical has left her doubting all the sacrifices she has made over the years. She has been away from her family and friends too long. But her biggest regret is her divorce from her one true love, Tony DeLuca, and not being around much to help raise their son, Ethan.

The first thing Kate does when she arrives in Valentine is stop by her ex-husband's bar, which surprises both her herself and her ex. They haven't had much contact in nine years except with their son Ethan, so no one knows how to take her being in town without any notice beforehand. Kate is too embarrassed to tell her parents the real reason she is in town but she can tell Tony. That is something neither one of them can figure out.

Kate is home for the holidays and everyone is curious about what is going on. Kate, not being someone who can sit still for long periods of time, ends up working at Tony's bar as a server. The two of them being thrown together again brings back a lot of old memories from their marriage and baby boy. Kate wonders if maybe she was wrong to give all that up for a high-powered job. Tony realizes he has never kept a relationship going because he has never gotten over Kate. Ethan seeing his parents together is not sure if he likes it. With a town full of old friends from high school and a lot of family nearby makes Kate realize what she has given up all the years she has been gone. This story is full of hurt feelings and trying to find forgiveness for those you love.

I didn't want this book to end. I sat and wondered how everything was going to work out for the town and the people. I wanted the story to keep going another hundred pages or so. Sometimes I get so wrapped up in what I am reading that I feel lost when it ends. This is one of those stories I will keep with me until next year or longer. I give this book 5 Blue Ribbons rating from Romance Junkies. I highly recommend this book to all who like a feel good story.
