Emma is back in Rock Creek, Pennsylvania for both of her sisters’ weddings.  She is also working on her research project, which will determine if she is going to be employed next year. The most vital part of her project is a tall, dark, extreme sports star named Jake Slayter.  Without him as part of her research, she can pretty much kiss her job as assistant professor at the university goodbye.  Getting an interview from him, though, is almost like pulling teeth as she quickly finds out.  To make matters worse, her mother sticks her nose in Emma’s business and somehow talks Jake into escorting Emma to both weddings.  Emma is beside herself.  She needs to concentrate on her research project, not daydream about a hot, hunky and sexy body. She is out of her element and, unfortunately, Jake is fully aware of it.

Cathie Linz takes us along on Emma’s journey from a self-diagnosed frump to a woman who truly discovers her feminine side.  Jake Slayter is the typical sexy, bad guy, and he is Emma’s total opposite, which makes this story electric.  It was fun reading this and seeing how Emma juggles her weird mother, high-strung sisters and a man who has absolutely rocked her world.  This is a fun book to read.
