Like the other men in his family, Ramsay is a fisherman, though he longs for a business of his own. The last thing he wants to do is drive some spoiled lass around, nor does he believe in marriage or Kit's matchmaking business. At first, he is irritated that his older brother left this job up to him, so he goes out of his way to sabotage Kit's work, convincing the Scotsmen not to sign up with her. However, as he gets to know Kit and realizes the way she is supporting her family, he begins to help her. But does he still have time to sign up the men before the American women arrive? Ramsay cannot stop his desire for Kit, but he has no plans to marry. Still, as he gets to know Kit, he can't imagine his life without her. Can he convince her to stay in Scotland and build a future with him?
Deliciously romantic, SOME LIKE IT SCOTTISH, the third book in author Patience Griffin's KILTS AND QUILTS series, is a clever, sexy contemporary tale that will leave readers longing for a highlander of their own. I really liked both of these characters. Although Kit and Ramsay annoy each other in the beginning, neither can deny the attraction between them. But Kit is determined to take care of her family and get them back to where they once were, despite the fact that she is quickly falling for the hot Scotsman. Will she choose her family over the man she loves?
I also enjoyed the women in the town, especially Deydie, who is always after Kit to get back to quilting. Kit has many issues to face as she carries out her matchmaking venture in Scotland. Normally, getting the men to participate would not be a problem since most of them are anxious for women, but once Ramsay secretly starts his sabotage, none of them come forth and the women resent Kit, believing she is there to take away their men.
I have read all of the books in this series and love all of them. I especially like that each new book allows me to reconnect with the characters from the previous ones. The quaint setting, clever repartee, quilts, engaging characters, humor, sensuality, romance and love wrap you, leaving readers with a warm feeling comparable to drinking a hot cup of tea on a cold winter morning. A wonderful story, I can't wait to revisit Scotland again in Ms. Griffin's next addition to this series. The fourth book in this series, THE ACCIDENTAL SCOT, is due out in December. In the meantime, be sure to pick up a copy of SOME LIKE IT SCOTTISH. While you are at it, why not also grab the first two books, TO SCOTLAND WITH LOVE and MEET ME IN SCOTLAND. Each book is a treasure in itself!
