Can you imagine a town named Christmas where Christmas is celebrated all year, the stores are decorated year around, and homes glow with Christmas cheer? Can you imagine someone finding an abandoned baby in place of the baby Jesus in the nativity in the town square?
Carol Baker found the baby while out walking late in the evening with her dog, Quinn. Former police officer, Jack Reilly, who is temporarily replacing the ailing sheriff of Christmas, is called in to investigate. Hold your breath, this is the beginning of an absolutely wonderful story.
Carol loves living in Christmas and operating her gift shop. However, she has secrets from her past that haunt her. While dealing with Jack Reilly about the abandoned baby, they discover an attraction beginning between them. But Jack also has to deal with an incident from his past. Whenever Carol shows any feelings towards him he immediately withdraws from her and absolutely refuses to discuss why this happens.
When Carol is granted temporary custody of the abandoned baby she is thrilled but her problems have just begun. The still unknown birth mother has yet to be found and the state will decide what eventually happens to the baby. And Carol is slowly but surely losing her heart to the little girl. She cannot bear to think what the future holds.
This story is wonderful with the characters so real that I was totally involved with them and their problems. The town of Christmas is so unique that I wanted to go there for a visit. I am sure you will enjoy this book, as much as I did, and I am so happy to have had the chance to review it. Hopefully this author will continue to give us more great stories like this.
