Soren's Surrender

James Williams gets very little time for himself. He’s caring for his elderly grandfather and managing the hardware store which has belonged in his family for the past fifty years.  One night a week he pays a babysitter to sit with his Pops and he pays a visit to club Incognito where he dreams of garnering the attention of a particular Dom, Soren.

Soren has carefully cultivated his technique for ensuring that his selected subs have their needs met while sating his own physical needs and yet emotionally he remains detached from them.  He’s had his heart broken too many times to risk that sort of pain again.  There’s just something about James’ lonely demeanor and sad eyes has him questioning if he should give love another try.

James has no illusions about who he is or what he wants.  He’s done everything possibly to stem his desire for men but he can no longer deny his own needs.  Even though he’s been watching Soren at the club when he’s visited each Friday night, not once has Soren ever approached him.  He certainly hadn’t anticipated their first encounter to be as disastrous as it turned out to be.

After creating one heck of an ugly scene at Incognito, James decides that he’s simply going to give up on ever finding love.  Between dealing with Pops’s on-again-off-again lucid moments and trying to keep the hardware store afloat he’s busy enough without trying to nurture a relationship with a man who obviously doesn’t want him.  When he walked out of Incognito, he assumed that would be the end of his ‘association’ until he discovers that Soren is a lawyer for the corporation intent on buying out the hardware store.  Neither man is prepared for the feelings they have for each other but they both have issues that may be too much for them to overcome.

SOREN’S SURRENDER is the first book in the INCOGNITO series written exclusively by Anna Leigh Keaton.  I’ve really enjoyed this series and getting to know the characters. With SOREN’S SURRENDER we still get to visit the characters we know and love but we’re also treated to the series first gay couple.  I loved the heated encounters between James and Soren.  They’ve both got issues that factor highly in their fledgling relationship.  SOREN’S SURRENDER is a memorable addition to the INCOGNITO series and if you haven’t read any of them yet, then I highly recommend the entire series.
