Hank Beltane is furious over a disqualification letter that TJ had sent. If he doesn’t get to barrel-race, he can’t compete in the all-around which means he also can’t compete in the nationals. He’s determined to get TJ to lift the disqualification, even if he has to stop just short of stalking.
TJ barreled into Hank as she was heading for the Bar T trailer. Hank was looking for TJ but he was expecting to have a talk with a man, not an attractive, stubborn, refusing to lift the disqualification woman. Since TJ won’t fix his problem, Hank figures he’ll follow her and annoy her so much that she’d at least consider it. Once Hank figures out that irritating her isn’t working, he switches to romance. That idea backfires though, TJ and Hank are already attracted to each other. TJ will not give in to her feelings and sacrifice everything she’s worked so hard for no matter how attractive she finds Hank. Hank may want the disqualification lifted but is it worth sacrificing what he could have with TJ?
THE HARDER THEY FALL will take you behind the scenes of the rodeo. TJ is a kick-butt, no nonsense kind of girl. For the most part, most of the people she associates with act like she’s just one of the guys. It’s been a long time since she’s felt attractive or an attraction for a man. Hank is exactly what TJ needs to shake her up a bit. He’s fun, loves the rodeo, and he’s not intimidated by her. Beth Williamson writes a charmingly hot story full of passion for both the rodeo and the characters. Wonderful story.
To read more on other characters that appeared in this story, read the other two books in the SPURS AND MISTLETOE series - SANTA IN SPURS by Maggie Casper and FOR LOVE’S SAKE ONLY by Lena Matthews. I’ve read all three and they’re each vastly different and very well written.
