Two of Maddie’s best friends, Dana Sue and Helen, keep her together by presenting her with the idea of opening a spa in the small town of Serenity. It seems like it will be the best of both worlds since she needs a job and working with her friends will keep her mind off of her troubles.
The turmoil with the kids comes to a head when Tyler’s baseball coach, Cal, contacts her to discuss how to keep Tyler playing the game and not warming the bench. The only problem that arises is that sparks fly between Maddie and Cal, and he is ten years younger. The people of Serenity do not approve and this could complicate matters more with her children.
Sherryl Wood’s first novel in the SERENITY series has proven itself to be a keeper. The small-town feel of the story envelopes you in a feeling of warmth. Maddie and Cal have to also deal with the small town gossip as well. Anyone living in a small town will connect with this story immediately. Sherryl Woods has a knack creating a cozy romance that will have you devouring it well into the night. You won’t want to put down STEALING HOME once you start reading it. I am looking forward to the next in the trilogy A SLICE OF HEAVEN and FEELS LIKE FAMILY.
