Elena Wolverton feels broken. After her mother died in a car accident, and the injuries she sustained as a result, Elena decided the perfect place to recoup is her family’s summer cabin in Aspen. But when her spoiled sister Vivian brings along a friend for entertainment, Elena finds herself dreaming of what it would be like to have a man like Porter Rowe.

Porter knows Vivian is selfish, as their time spent together is nothing more than mutual pleasure. So when Elena starts noticing him, paying attention to him, he suspects she’s the real thing. She’s the exact opposite of Vivian and full of life. She’s the kind of person Porter soon finds himself falling in love with.

Ms. Garnier writes a passionate tale so hot the pages could catch fire. I love how the characters fit perfectly together. Elena is likable and strong, while Porter is the type of guy every woman dreams. Vivian, however, is displayed as the typical snotty sibling. STROKE OF MIDNIGHT is a tale of scandal where true love reveals itself in the end.
