Sturgis, South Dakota hosts the largest motorcycle rally in the world. For one week each year bikers, tattoo artists, vendors, and other fans of the motorcycle lifestyle descend on the town and the results are as wild as the people are varied.
Ink Monroe isn’t looking for a happily-ever-after or even Mr. Right. What she wants is a Mr. Right Now because days of living on soda, energy drinks and very little sleep have left her frustrated, horny and very tired. She needs the stress relief a good hard ride could provide – and she’s not talking motorcycle rides either.
Jet Ryan isn’t a biker but that doesn’t stop him from venturing into town with his buddies. The smell of burnt rubber, leather and too many people crowded together grates on his nerves and he’d like nothing better than to escape the madness and head back to the ranch. Picking up a woman to share some time with doesn’t even cross his mind, until he’s made an offer he turns down flat, and might come to regret.
After overhearing Jet’s friend comment that he really needs to get laid, Ink Monroe decides to approach him about scratching the itch they obviously share. He rejects her offer but not because he doesn’t find her attractive. It’s simply not a good idea to be sleeping with strangers – especially not during bike week. What should have been a clean escape from the bar and out of town lands him back in her company again when he rescues her from another man’s untoward advances – and succumbs to her allure himself.
If she thinks that Jet’s going to settle for being her personal toy for a few hours she better think again. She’s so tightly wound that her frustration is almost palatable and Jet knows exactly how to cure what ails her – and it involves her submitting to his desires… not the other way around.
I’ve had a fascination with the motorcycle rally since I first saw a documentary about it several months ago so when I saw this book/series not reading them wasn’t an option. The characters are raw and the storyline is fast paced and intense – just like really good sex should be. Seriously though, Bella (a.k.a. Ink) obviously has some deep set esteem issues but Jet never takes advantage of it. Instead he’s very gentle and caring in how he deals with her – even when she’s demanding that he get right down to business. What I especially enjoyed about this story is the ending because you’re left with a feeling that there might be a future for these two. BEAUTIFUL INK by L.C. Dean is a short fun read that has plenty of heart and heat.
