Entrepreneur Etienne Marais has done his research and he knows all about Honey Harlow, her family and her company and he has every intention of adding her company to his vast portfolio. The only problem is that Honey isn’t following along with his game plan. She has her own visions for her company and flat out refuses to see the genius in his ideas. That in itself is frustrating but the simple fact that he is extremely attracted to her adds a whole other aspect to this ‘merger’ that he hadn’t anticipated.
Etienne’s never encountered anyone quite like Honey before. Her outlook on life and money is so different that it’s refreshing. She’s not going to be cowed into an alliance with him – no matter how much he turns up the charm. As luck would have it, Bunny, Honey’s mother’s arrival in Paris couldn’t have happened at a better time. Bunny’s outrageous nature and never ending optimism about marriage and love is part of her charm as well as a cause for worry as far as Honey’s concerned. Etienne quickly figures out that the easiest way to win the daughter is by wooing the mother, however, he underestimated this duo’s intelligence, insight into people and their creative genius. Etienne may have approached Honey with the hopes of an affair and adding her company to his eclectic empire but there’s no denying that his heart is becoming involved. Now all he has to do is convince Honey that she should give love and him a chance.
The writing team of J.M Jeffries truly surprised me with their newest release SUITE NOTHINGS. Honey and Etienne’s relationship captures the imagination from the moment they meet but it’s their individual backgrounds and family dynamics that dictate so much of the way they interact that make this story feel so real and pulled me into the plot. Honey’s mother causes quite a commotion with her appearance in France and her seemingly flighty attitude and insistence that her next husband will be French had me chuckling even while I realized that she’s a very smart woman. I got a huge kick out of getting to know her – especially when he takes Etienne’s half-brother in hand after craftily putting his spoiled behind in its place. SUITE NOTHINGS is a refreshingly vibrant story full of all the elements that make life and love fun but best of all it has unique women who have a delightfully realistic outlook on what makes life worth living. This is a beautifully written story that is both lighthearted and thought provoking.
