When news anchor Hannah receives a letter requesting forgiveness and containing two forgiveness stones from Fiona Knowles, a girl who used to bully Hannah in school, she doesn't think much about it. Fiona has gained quite a reputation from touring and books since she came up with the idea of the stones and wrote the very popular book, The Forgiveness Stones. Despite Hannah's career success, the one thing she desires is a family. Her own had broken up when her mother fell in love with another man. Believing that her stepfather had touched her inappropriately, she accuses him of molesting her. So she spent the rest of her time with her father and has not seen her mother in years. But now her father has died and Hannah has been dating the mayor, Michael, whose daughter does not care for her. In the past, Michael has hinted at a future with Hannah, but lately, he has distanced himself and only seems interested in furthering his political career.

When another network in a different town expresses interest in Hannah, she figures that the threat of her leaving might prompt Michael to propose. But when she mentions the possibility, he encourages her to take the job. Now committed to submitting a proposal for an upcoming show for the network, she remembers the letter and the forgiveness stones. At the insistence of her friend Dorothy, Hannah also takes steps to make amends with her mother and discovers quite a bit about herself, her parents and even love itself.

A poignant tale, SWEET FORGIVENESS, penned by author Lori Nelson Spielman, is an inspiring, heartwarming contemporary romance that will pull at your heart strings.  With true-to-life characters and a plot that will keep readers glued to the pages, this story will quickly captivate readers. As the story unfolds, readers can easily become emotionally involved. There are also some extraordinary secondary characters who add charm and wisdom to the story.

Filled with hurt, sexual abuse, an old nemesis, healing, forgiveness, redemption, surprising plot twists and love, this story is one that readers will find hard to put down until they reach the end. This is the first Lori Nelson Spielman book that I have read, but I look forward to reading more of her work. An entertaining, well-written novel, SWEET FORGIVENESS may leave readers thinking of those they need to forgive.
