All the stress and built up anger contributes to Florida having an accident that leaves her in need of help to cope with day to day life. As she tries to heal, she gets support from the unlikely sources of her mother and Stan, the father of her daughter, Missouri. Florida is having a hard enough time dealing with her current situation and wonders if she can let go of the hurts and disappointments of her past.
The main characters are engaging and empathetic in their struggles to cope with the results of their choices. The dialog and family dynamics are authentic and are bound to resonate with many readers. There is romance woven into the plot, but the true emphasis seems to be on the love of friends and family.
This is the fifth book in a series set in the Missouri Ozarks. The sense of place is strong throughout all five novels. Many characters from the earlier books play a pivotal role in TAKE ME HOME, so the reader will want to start with at the beginning with SING ME HOME. I have had the pleasure of reading all of the heartwarming novels in this series and reviewed several. Ms. Corgiat has become one of my "must read" authors. I will look forward on her next book with great anticipation.
