Tara Schaefer is a smart, sexy and successful woman who’s biggest flaw is her lousy taste in men.  It seems like she goes from one loser to the next with no hopes of ever finding her Mr. Right.  When Tara finds herself actually considering having a fling with her adorable, but very nerdy neighbor, she knows that she’s ready to seriously start looking for a real man, and soon.

Shy and fashion-challenged accountant Ayden Wilson has been lusting after his neighbor Tara for six months now, even though he knows that a woman like her is way out of his league.  After listening to her kick yet another loser out of her apartment and her bed, Ayden decides that the time has come for him to take action, even if it means temporarily giving up his comfy khakis and socks with sandals.

Ayden gets his chance when, after a not so chance meeting in their apartment’s elevator, the new alpha-male Ayden learns Tara’s secret fantasy is to be whisked away by a handsome stranger.  Ayden might be a geek, but one thing he’s very good at is strategy.  Soon he comes up with a plan guaranteed to make all of Tara’s wildest fantasies come true.  The question is, when the fantasy is over, will Tara be able to look past the glasses and the pineapple print shirts and see Ayden for who he really is; her Mr. Right?

TAKING TARA is a funny and sexy story that hits all the right notes a romance should.  Author Alyssa Brooks does an amazing job of creating lovable and lifelike characters that will have you cheering them on from the start.  She also does a bang up job of showing us that there is a whole other side to the nerds around us; the love scenes here are so hot I was surprised that my computer screen didn’t catch on fire!  I definitely recommend TAKING TARA to any reader who can appreciate large doses of humor and sweetness with their erotic romance and I certainly hope to read more by Alyssa Brooks in the future.
